This is achieved by recruiting the right people, with the right attitude, providing top-quality training which exceeds the industry norm and keeping everyone engaged and focused, through excellent communication and career opportunities.
We are really proud of our achievements which include:
- being certified as one of Britain’s Top Employers 2011.
- winning the People Development Award 2011, at the Peach Factory Hero & Icon Awards.
- launching an apprenticeship programme across the estate, in which all employees may participate.
- running the degree and diploma in leisure and retail management, in conjunction with Leeds Metropolitan University, which have been gained by over 300 employees.

My career at Wetherspoon began two years ago, initially on a fixed-term contract, and I soon became a permanent employee of a vibrant and successfully expanding company. My recruitment process was exceptionally efficient; during my interview, it was easy to identify the passion and commitment which the interviewers had for the company – that signalled to me that Wetherspoon is a real winner.
As a personnel adviser, I provide employee relations advice to our pub management and employees, based on our policies, procedures, employment legislation and ACAS guidelines. The department members have a great teamwork ethic and are friendly, enthusiastic and want the best for the success of the company. My successful career with Wetherspoon has involved me in various projects, attending employment law courses which now fuel my passion to accomplish my CIPD qualifications.
