Our acquisitions team is constantly working on sourcing the best locations in the UK for new sites, while our development team ensures that these are developed into great-looking pubs. Our innovative designs and approaches lead the way for the industry and have won us numerous design awards over the years.

Our estates team ensures the smooth day-to-day management of our properties, with regard to rates, rents, staff accommodation and the many other factors involved in running commercial properties. This includes liaising with councils and local authorities on issues affecting our pubs and ensuring that these are resolved quickly and efficiently.

In our maintenance teams, both our field-based and office-based teams work closely with our maintenance contractors to ensure that maintenance issues are resolved quickly and to a high standard.

Other responsibilities include the management of our refurbishment projects and also ensuring that our regular planned maintenance works are carried out when due, so that our pubs are always safe and compliant.

Caroline Wilson – Property & Maintenance Team Leader

I first stepped through the doors of J D Wetherspoon’s head office back in 2005, as a maintenance co-ordinator. My role involved helping to support the pubs and contractors with all of their maintenance issues. Within the six years I’ve been here, I have seen the estate practically double in size and seen my own development progress to team leader.

I’ve got to say that Wetherspoon is one of the best companies I have worked for – and I put the winning formula down to its work ethics, great atmosphere and exceptional benefits.
